Chap 4 : Painted face's and long hair

Dear Journal,

Today has been a regular old day. The little'uns are playing as usual, Henry and other two boys were playing, the other two have left and they leave little Henry alone. Roger comes out an is bullying Henry! I felt sorry for him, but I didn't do anything, it's because Roger is scary! The little'uns have it easy here in the island. When they are not playing they are eating and when it comes to night time you can hear them scream and cry for their parents. Something that Jack wanted to do earlier today was paint our faces, so we did, the kids respect him so all the hunters painted there faces. I think they painted their faces because when they hunt,i don't think they want too. So by painting their faces, it's not them. I think they are going to keep painting their faces to hide their real feelings, for hunting. I got really mad, because Jack took all the hunters to go hunt with him because hes, obsessed of killing, especially pigs ! Well he took all of them including the ones that were suppose to keep the fire going. So i saw a ship, and we could have been rescued, but no ! There was no people at the signal. So they left. I'm planning on calling a meeting, with all the boys it's going ti be our first meeting at night ! I will talk to them and get everything under control again.

JACK .

The Sound Of The Shell.
Jack.
The setting on the island is described as many palm trees, tree trunks and creepers as the boy call them but they are huge vines. There's many birds, and the ground isn't flat its bumpy and rocky, the boys then find (Piggy & Ralph) a efflorescence pool as they say, with clear hot water and then later they find out its actually a island. The boys landed on this island when they were being taken from a boarding school to their home, but they got attacked and the plane lost control and so the pilot died and the some of the boys survived. I think i most relate better to Ralph because on the book it says he understands the problem in very different ways and is trustworthy and when he gets excited he stands on his head, but when i get excited i jump and scream. Like i said earlier the plane crashed and no one survived but the boys so there is no adults on the island. The person that can hold and can blow the conch, have very great powers meaning by they are almost the leader by being able to blow the conch and get everyone to come. I think that the conch has a very important meaning by being their single of peace. The choirs job is to be the hunters and i think that they are very important because they bring the food to the rest of the boys. I, Jake think i should be elected because i am already the leader of the choir and i already have experience leading so it would be easier. I couldn't kill the pig because of the blood that will come out and it would be really gross if i cut into fresh flesh.

Out Siders

The "Out Siders" is a really interesting book. I liked how the author gave detail to the characters and the actors were really how imagine them. There personality also goes with the 1950's and 1960's talk. He mainly wrote about boys having a rough life in Oklahoma. He is also describing about the two classes the socs and the greasers. The socs are a higher class and have money nice cars and nice clothes. The greasers in the other hand have nothing but each other. Another topic it talks about is friend ship and family. Since when Johnny one of the greasers he killed one of the socs and had to run away with the youngest grease,Pony boy and they stayed together.

Film Crew Reflection

How did you come up with the idea for your movie?
The way we came up with a idea for a movie is since we are a three way group, we added a little bit of each others. For example Sierra she had an idea about three girls Vanessa B she came up with a idea of three girls being bad and me I said that the girls should be in a sleepover. All together it will be three girls in a sleepover doing bad things for example:prang calling, playing the Ouija board, and calling bloody marry.

What was one of you biggest Challenges during the writing process?
One of the biggest problems that we had when we were filming is that we had to write our script more than 4 times because first it was too long and the the second time we took it it wasn't in the correct format correctly so at the end we crossed somethings that weren't useful and made it shorter after we put the correct format it correctly.

Did you write many versions of your script?
As I mentioned earlier we made a lot of copies of our script about six. They had different reasons for one example the format and how much it is.
Pre-Production:
What was your biggest challenge during pre-production (before shooting your movie)?
Some of the biggest challenges was with the camera and since our movie did not take place at school were most of the people filmed there's, we had to get a teacher to take us and someone to film. Once we got to our place were we planned to film we didn't know our lines so we had to hide the script and read of there and try to remember some stuff and try not to look at the script as much.

Did you use your storyboard to plan your shots? Describe how this process help.
No we did not we only wrote what our script say so we only drew what the script said or the actions it mentioned. I don't think it helped because it was really hard to draw for me because i am not a good drawer and if you try to match all of your actions.

Production:
What was a challenge that you had during filming of your movie?
A challenge that we had was when we found our filming the camera kept moving and we looked down too much.
We were also trying to get everyone to get focused and on work.

What was something that struck you about filming a movie?
What struck me was how much time and patience you need to have to make one minute movie. It was probably more harder to make a two hour movie and how much time you have to spend making a script and a storyboard and how much work it is.

What is something that you might do differently next time if you had a change to film?
I will make sure I formatted it correctly and make a storyboard correctly too. Because that took a lot of time when we could be filming and adding more transitions and music.

Post Production:
What was a challenge you had during editing your movie?
Did you have to rerecord some of your movie? If so why?
Luckily we didn't have to re-record some of our movie. We did all the filming in a day. While we were editing I forgot some of the things that we could do in movie windows maker. One of the others challenges was when the computer was freezing and we couldn't do our work.

Did the movie come out the according to the script?
Yes the movie came as the script since i mentioned we had to read the script.

Did the movie match the story board?
The movie didn't come as much as the storyboard but yes in some ways it did.

What challenge did you have finishing your movie?
Not much one of the challenges was getting music. Because unfortunately you needed to have music or they take five points away.

What advice would you give to another young movie maker?
Make sure to be ready and have your script and everything is planned and you are ready to go.

Is it worth trading equality for freedom?

Is it worth trading equality for freedom?

Yes it is I think because I would want freedom and not equality because i would want to be free and not all the same because that woulds be very very boring if every one is the same. That is why in our country we can be free and everybody has a different style to be. Freedom is also worth more than anything (I think).
